“The management and security team seems to have way too much control over the residents. Honestly, I often feel more like a carefully watched kid than an adult. It really isn’t anyone else’s business when I come and go, what condition I’m in, or who I’m with. All these constant checks, safety procedures, and rules seriously bring down the overall quality of student life at Queen’s. Example: It should be obvious that students sometimes want to bring a visitor back after a night out or something similar, but even though we pay huge rents for the privilege of having our own place, it just isn’t possible if we try to follow the accommodation rules.”

“The beds really need an upgrade. The springs are poking through my mattress. If they are not going to replace it, then they should at least provide mattress covers at no cost. I’m getting bruised because of the springs. And the noise complaints should be taken seriously and addressed promptly.”

“Having fewer people living in my apartment”

“The noise is the big issue for me. I’m regularly woken up in the early hours by people living in my building. I’ve raised this a few times already, but it still feels like nothing substantial has been done to tackle antisocial behavior in the accommodation.”
