“When we bring up issues, the flatmate communication feels off, and it seems like the accommodation is the one doing more to fix things.”

“The flat is generally clean, but the fire alarms are way too sensitive, which ends up disturbing students in the middle of the night.”

“The room is decent for what I’m paying, but there are a few things that could be better. First, the windows. Right now there’s only one small window up in the top corner, and it opens only a little. It just doesn’t bring in enough fresh air. Even with the exhaust or ventilation running, the place can still feel stuffy, so having windows that open more would really help. Second, there are no carpets. The last person left the carpet in a pretty dirty state, and no amount of vacuuming is going to get rid of the stains. Plus, carpets are just harder to clean and keep looking clean. So I’m definitely saying no to carpets.”

“The shared spaces, especially the bathrooms and toilets, could use more consistent cleaning and upkeep since so many different people use them. I also noticed natural mold in the bathrooms and hard water buildup, and those issues could definitely be improved.”

“The fire alarms have really become a major issue. Since Bertrand Russell Tower has had the most fire alarms compared to every other place in this university, I feel like something is off with the sensors, and the constant alarms are seriously messing with our mental health.”
