Honestly, I feel like they should wait until everyone has moved out and then do a real deep clean. They need to repair the walls, touch up the paint, deep clean the carpet, and really scrub the showers. Mine has BLACK MOLD in it, which is not okay. Also, the beds are way too small. I’m 6'3" and at night my legs literally hang off the bed. Another thing that’s really disappointing is the windows. They’re big and pretty, but they’re disgusting both inside and out. The cleaning crew does what they can, but it really comes down to the building owner. And honestly, they suck.

For the price they’re charging, I expected way better quality. It feels pretty low-grade for what it costs.

The bathroom was really clean, and the price felt fair.

The internet connection is pretty unreliable and keeps dropping now and then. Also, there could be more room in the fridge.

The bathroom area is really tight.

The communal area in the flat needs improvement.

I’d really like a bathroom that has a bathtub, or at least access to a shared bath.

There’s a kitchen on every floor, not just the ground floor.

The shared dining setup, like the kitchen and pantries, is used by way too many people. There isn’t much space, and they do get cleaned regularly, but they still somehow always end up looking dirty since so many people rely on them. On top of that, the appliances often don’t work or things go missing.

Much better heating control would make a huge difference, because the heating actually needs to work properly during winter. In the cold months the temperature often falls below 18 degrees, and that is just too chilly to function. I reported this to the accommodation managers. After loads of emails and them taking measurements of my room, they came back with this message: “They have contacted Engie [the maintenance team] and confirmed that they have done as much as they could to raise the heating level in your room. Since you are further away [top floor] from the heating system, the variation in room temperature is expected. I am sorry that the engineers cannot do much more at this moment. I appreciate that you still feel cold in your current room.” Back in Winter 2018, the heating was actually the other way around for about a week. We had 24+ degrees, which is obviously too hot, but it also shows that it is technically possible to get stronger heating. Overall, the communication with the accommodation manager was really disappointing. It was honestly difficult to get them to take the issue seriously as a genuine technical problem that needed fixing. (Also, the heating problem is supported by the measurements they took and confirmed by other students.) One more thing, the elevator is broken all the time, and it is like that right now.
