“We need more storage because some people have way more than others, and it turns into clutter.”

“The main thing I’d change about my place is the soundproofing between rooms. Sometimes I can basically hear what’s going on in other people’s rooms, and it makes me worry they can hear everything in mine too. That thought is honestly pretty uncomfortable. I’d also improve the kitchen setup. With 13 people living in the flat, the cooking area feels too cramped. There are only 2 sinks, 3 stoves, and not much storage, so I end up having to keep most of my cooking stuff in my room.”

“For my apartment in particular, getting in is a bit of a process. You have to start by going through an outside door, then take the stairs up, and then go through the inside door. Other apartments you can just walk straight to the front door, so this is slightly annoying, especially if you want to have a friend over since it makes it harder for them to get into our place. That said, I do think it’s a good security setup. It just feels like there’s a bit of difference between the apartments, depending on whether you have two doors or just one. Also, do you have a buzz invite?”

“The rooms feel pretty dry, so a few of us have started coughing. And the hallways are really hot, which makes it quite uncomfortable.”

“If Bowland Accommodation offered secure bike storage of its own, and if there was more variety in the cycle parking, like spaces designed for cargo bikes and adapted cycles.”

“A TV would be really nice, but honestly it’d probably end up getting broken again.”

“The soundproofing between the rooms isn’t great, because I can hear footsteps from the floor above me.”

“I really wish my room had an en suite bathroom, but it was just beyond what I could afford.”
