“Please fix the lift because I’m on the top floor.”

“There’s a shared area in the studio building, though I know full well there’s basically no room to make that happen here.”

“The plug socket being nearer to the bed would be better, but an extension cord works just fine for me.”

“Honestly, the noise is pretty bad since the place isn’t really soundproof. And the person across the hall keeps playing games, like I was up late until around 7:00 in the morning. It gets especially wild during exam season when you’re trying to study and revise.”

“I like that these beds are easier to shift around when you’re changing the sheets. The one I have is bolted to the wall, so swapping the bedding is really difficult.”

“I think there are a few ways things could be improved, besides just having the ability to compost well and deal with food waste properly. Mainly, it would help if the studio accommodation had some kind of shared area within the flat for everyone to use together. Right now, the studios feel quite solitary. I really do like having that space, but it also means you don’t really get the chance to know your flatmates and build that kind of connection.”

“I’d like it to be easier to reach the porters. I also think it should be clear in advance when someone needs to enter my room. And it’s been really frustrating having construction happening just outside the building for months. It makes everything in my room shake, and they’ve even blocked off some of the routes out of my accommodation.”

“I’d definitely put in blinds, or at least upgrade to better curtains. There’s just too much light coming in in the morning, and I keep waking up way earlier than I want because it shines right into my face.”

“The main thing that needs improving is the lighting. They should be replaced with LED. Also, the study lamps should be provided because, as international students, we do not get lights included in our packages. Another point is waste management. Food waste and wet waste should be handled separately, and the drivers should follow that system. Lastly, I think some of the appliances need to be refurbished or properly taken care of. A few of them are blinking, and I already raised a complaint, but I still have not received a response yet. That said, I genuinely love the place and the overall setup. These are just small changes, and I know they can be fixed over time. I have only been here for one month, so I’m sure things will get better soon. Thank you so much.”
