The staff really need a better way to communicate, not just with each other but also with the residents. They should also give clearer details about the place before people move in. For example, they should explain where the switches are for the different kitchen appliances and where parcels need to be sent, and that kind of thing.”

“The fire alarm seems to go off almost every day. The whole process for what happens when it triggers is really poor. Since the only staffed reception is a ten minute walk away, it ends up taking maintenance longer to check whether there’s actually a fire and reset the alarm than it does for the fire service to be called in the first place. The heat alarm is right above the hob, and I have set it off myself twice while cooking. In both cases, I called the out of hours number and told them it was a false alarm, but the fire service still came to the accommodation. The heat alarm needs to be relocated, or they need a different fire safety setup. Otherwise, it will not be long before the building gets blacklisted by the fire service.”

“The bathroom isn’t great for me. I really don’t like using a wet room shower, and the door also needs to be fixed since the water from the showers has damaged it.”
