“Overall, the place is really clean and well kept. There are staff on site all the time, and the maintenance guy is pretty much always around, plus he’s genuinely helpful. The hallways and the laundry room are kept tidy, and the floors are regularly hoovered. I have had a couple of problems with the car park gate not opening, but it was sorted straight away whenever I needed to get out. You can also communicate clearly whenever something comes up, either by going to reception or emailing online.”

“Please give a heads up if any work is planned that could involve drilling or make noise in the general area.”

“Please remove the carpets and swap them for laminate flooring. It feels more hygienic and is a lot easier to keep clean. Also, could you paint the rooms and sort out the bathroom? The bathroom keeps leaking all the time and it really needs new lino and a fresh coat of paint. Thanks.”

“Before you arrive, it’s a good idea to figure out where the classrooms are, because otherwise you might end up getting turned around. At the beginning, I had trouble adjusting to the accents of a few of my teachers, so if you’re in the same boat, make sure you watch the recording. Also, try to spend more time outside, especially when the weather is nice and sunny. You’ll see plenty of students sitting on the grass, eating, drinking, and just chatting. Everyone here is really friendly too, and they’re always happy to help if I’m lost or if anything else comes up.”

“I like that the heating can be left running, but the system we have now just doesn't work well for low temperatures overnight.”

“The room feels damp and the overall condition isn’t great. It’s not completely terrible, but it’s definitely got some rough edges, and it’s pretty obvious that maintenance should have been taken care of back in the summer.”
