How quickly the maintenance crew responds.

- The stairs leading up to the loft and bedroom area are honestly really dangerous. My partner and I have both ended up falling down them at different points, and I just cannot see how someone with reduced mobility would manage them. It also feels like a tough climb for any student coming back after a night out. - The double height ceiling made it hard to keep the room warm, and it was often quite cold. Even with the heating on, the radiator would not go above 23°C, which made it frustrating when you were trying to warm up. - The place is advertised as having a “cinema room”, but all it really had was a projector screen, and it was never explained or made clear how you’re supposed to use it. A simple sign or instructions for future residents would be really helpful, and it might encourage people to actually use the space as a social area. - When I moved in, it was obvious that a proper deep clean had not been done beforehand. The hob was covered in grime, one of the kitchen walls had grease stains, and the floor was dusty. - It would be great if there was a communal hoover available. The floors get dusty pretty quickly, and since I do not have my own vacuum, I have had to rely on floor wipes and a mop. - These cleanliness problems showed up in both mine and my partner’s inventories. Neither of us received any confirmation that the inventories had been sent or received, and nothing was sorted or addressed unless we contacted Hello Student ourselves.

The maintenance is better now. The building is really nice, and so are the amenities, but the maintenance has been the main issue.

There are plenty of washing machines, and the gym is even better than before.

The rooms feel modern and really tidy.

They’ve been doing more themed events in my building, which has made it easier to meet and get to know the other tenants.

They should really take the time to check every apartment before someone moves in, making sure it’s spotless and everything works properly.

It feels a bit much because the price is quite high. On the upside, I do like that everything is included. I’m just really frustrated that, as an international student, I have to pay the full amount upfront unless I have a UK guarantor. As a student, I simply can’t afford to pay it all at once.

I think the shower should have its own built-in floor to contain the water, rather than using the bathroom floor as the shower floor. That way, the rest of the bathroom stays dry and clean.

You can make the window open wider, and the fridge could probably be a little larger too.
