“Staying at Waterways has been a really positive experience overall. The team are genuinely helpful, and the place is kept in great condition. The only thing I’m not fully happy with is how far it is from campus. It’s about a 40 minute walk for me, so I end up catching the bus a lot, and that adds up fast. Also, the shared areas feel a bit cramped, so it can be tricky to get a game going on the pool table.”

“I like having more control over the heating settings. In the summer the place gets really hot, particularly on the top floors, so it would be great to have some kind of cooling system.”

“Maybe they could add a few more washing machines.”

“There isn’t a common room, and I think they should add a few more games. Just having one pool table feels like it’s not enough.”

“The walls feel really thin, and the soundproofing is pretty bad. I can clearly hear my neighbors when they’re on the phone, and even their phone vibrating on the table comes through. The lighting in the room isn’t great either, it can feel a bit dark and gloomy. Also, having just one fridge for five people is a lot to ask, and it honestly isn’t enough.”

“Make sure there are places to study or hang out together, and that they have cleaners who come by on a regular basis.”

“Maintenance sometimes takes a while to get back to you, and not everything is sorted on the first try.”

“They updated the furniture and fixtures, and they even put in brand new curtains.”

“We got way more room in the kitchen, especially with the extra cabinet space and fridge space.”
