“The folks here. A lot of us don’t really share anything, and honestly it can feel pretty awful living here at times. I often end up feeling sad and alone.”
“I’d say the way they handled it, fixing the accommodation issues and keeping in close contact with the students, really helped. It made sure people didn’t feel ignored when they raised concerns about a specific facility.”
“They should add more back-friendly chairs in the rooms, and they definitely need to replace the mattresses. The current ones are starting to pop their springs, so if you end up lying in the wrong spot it gets really uncomfortable.”
“Only four of us get along with my flatmates. There are loads of problems in the flat with certain people, and nothing ever really got sorted, even after we got Res Life involved.”
“The place could be cleaner, and the water should be safer for the residents. I also think they should keep everything up to a higher standard, with more support overall.”
“Let other people on campus stay in our accommodation during the evenings and overnight without being asked to leave.”
“There were stains on the carpet left by the last people, and the curtains and walls have a lot of scuff marks. Also, the shower doesn’t drain well.”
“The corridors are really warm, and the bedrooms get pretty hot too, especially since the central heating isn’t on. So we all ended up having to keep the windows open.”
“As a disabled student, I found that some of the kitchen facilities are a bit too high for me.”
