“I wouldn’t say the accommodation is worth an inflated price. For 2020/21, the gold room is being set at £185 per week, which works out to £9,250 a year since it’s a 50 week contract. Honestly, that bill is extremely overpriced and not many students can afford it. Other places could undercut you and still attract all your students right away. If I’m being realistic, I’d still consider £150 per week for a gold room a bit too much, but it’s a price I can live with. For a bronze room, I personally wouldn’t charge more than £130. I think it’s better to match what a lot of students can pay, rather than catering to just a small number.”
