Central Quay feels like a good deal for the money, but it can get really loud at night, and the residents I’ve come across haven’t been that friendly. The gym could definitely be improved, although it is still a nice extra. On the plus side, the staff are all really lovely, and the location is convenient too. I also think how your stay goes depends a lot on whether you get along with your flatmates, and how well they keep shared areas like the kitchen clean. My own bedroom has genuinely made me happy, since it’s a good size and looks really nice. The bathroom, though, has no windows and hardly any ventilation, so mould seems to appear fast.

I’d say the laundry service could definitely be better, and honestly, the prices for laundry are pretty high too.

When I first got moved into my room, it was really clean, but the kitchen still had leftovers from the previous tenants. There were items left in the freezer, and the cupboards still had food residue on them. Other than that, everything else has been great.

The kitchen setup could use some upgrades, and the cooker in particular stood out to me.

The distance from my place to school is a little too far to walk, I think. I guess there’s nothing I can really do about it. It’s fine though.

The payment plan is the issue. We’re students, so please stop pushing us to make big installment payments. For young adults, it’s really not that simple to set aside large sums just for housing. We’re used to spending, not saving massive amounts. Monthly payments are still something we can manage. We just can’t handle installments of 1350 pounds every two months. Also, the community could be better. Other races don’t usually talk to each other, and it’s honestly pretty awful. The accommodation team could improve things if they actually wanted to.

The kitchen needs an upgrade. Ours is quite old, and sometimes it feels a little unreliable to use.

The rooms don’t look great, because some have scuffs and scratches on the walls, and the corners and edges of the furniture are starting to wear down.

The furniture feels really comfortable, like the bed and the desk chair are both easy to sit or sleep on.
