Direct Lease/Managed Property

“My time in the managed property has been really good overall. I’ve gotten along well with my flatmates, and we end up hosting quite a few get togethers for friends. The bedrooms are spacious, and we also have a lovely backyard where flowers come out in spring. We did run into some problems with black mould, and it has been a bit difficult to get real support to tackle it, but once the weather warmed up, it hasn’t been as much of an issue. All in all, it’s been a positive experience, and we’re planning to renew our lease.”

“It really can’t be fixed, but I can hear the people upstairs really clearly and very loudly. Since it’s a short-term rental, there are suitcases being rolled around quite often too, which unfortunately makes everything much louder than it should be.”

“Communication from the university is much better, because before they didn’t really share much with us. Even when they do say something like “you’ll get a check on this date,” they’re really vague about the exact time, or sometimes they don’t even show up on the correct day.”

“I feel like the place could use a little updating, but it honestly doesn’t bother me that much. If I could change one thing, I’d want it to be less drafty, so when we turn the heat on, it actually holds onto the warmth.”

“I really don’t like the extra markup the university adds to the managed property, especially since they don’t seem to do all that much as managers. The homeowners, on the other hand, are way more involved and thoughtful.”

“Really close to the shops, which is great. Overall the location is good, but getting around can be tough because there are so many stairs. It’s not easy to fix though.”
