> I’ve been asking my flatmates to take the bins out and wash their dishes, because it’s on me way too often or we won’t pass the inspections.

> There should be harsher consequences for anyone who pulls the fire alarm. The people in my year who did it seemed genuinely amused that the rest of us had to queue up in the cold and rain at some ridiculous hour in the morning.

> It would be a logistical nightmare, sure, but I think there could be a “flat swap” set up near the end of the first trimester. Basically, it would give people like me, who are stuck in an uncomfortable living situation, a chance to trade places with someone else who also wants to move out of their flat. It would not be perfect because everyone’s reasons for swapping would be different, but it could still make day to day accommodation life a bit easier. Honestly, nothing is worse than sharing a place with people you just don’t get on with, so having a system where you can hopefully match up with flatmates you actually click with would be a really positive change.
