“Even though I’ve managed to meet one of my closest friends in my flat, the other four people haven’t really been much help when it comes to keeping the shared areas tidy and clean. So it ends up being me and my friend doing most of the work, and they also haven’t made much effort to actually get to know each other. Because of that, I feel like every applicant should get the chance to describe their personality, so they can be matched with people who are more similar. There have also been times when I’ve felt pretty lonely in my accommodation, especially when my friend isn’t there, and I just wish I’d been placed with people who were a bit friendlier and more helpful.”

“The main thing I’d change about the accommodation is having more washing machines and tumble dryers. It’s like there are about 300 residents all trying to share the machines, and at the moment one of them is out of order. It does work, but then you get people who don’t actually come back to take the laundry out once it’s finished. It just gets left there all day, and then we end up having to remove it and figure out how to store it, like finding a bag and putting it somewhere. That’s really the only downside I can think of. The other issue is the plumbing, but that’s structural, not anything staff-related, and it usually gets sorted out pretty quickly. Other than that, I’d just say maybe more parking too.”
