“I’m a lot more strict about how food is stored, since I’ve seen too many students let it go moldy.”

“If I had to describe it in a voice recording, I’d say one of the main differences with this place is that there’s basically no ventilation in a few areas, like the kitchen, some of the hallways, and even the bathroom. So depending on what’s going on, it can lead to problems, especially when someone showers for a long time or when people are cooking. Another issue is with the windows and the sliding door. In my unit, the sliding door sometimes gets stuck, and the hinges can catch like that. So there are definitely moments where you have to deal with the door not moving smoothly. Those are the two things I’d change, but they would probably cost a fair bit, so I’m not sure what will actually happen.”

“So I could have a little more room for my stage piano.”

“A few things in the rooms could use an upgrade. Like, the walls would really benefit from a fresh coat of paint.”

“I like that the kitchen has windows, because otherwise it gets really stuffy and hot.”

“The WiFi signal inside the rooms could be stronger.”

“I wish there were more shared spaces, but there really weren’t any. It honestly felt like my flatmates were basically strangers for the entire year.”

“This place doesn’t really feel like it was meant to be lived in. In the kitchen there aren’t any windows, and the windows that are there do not open very wide.”

“The walls are really paper thin, but I guess there’s only so much that can be done about that. There are a couple other things too, like some wasp nests outside, though maintenance typically takes care of it pretty fast.”

“Honestly, the only thing everyone really needs is a kitchen window, because I can’t even count how many times we got in trouble for leaving the fire door open. The air gets so hot we can’t stay in the kitchen, and I’ve definitely burned my food more than once just because I wasn’t there.”
