“Just general cleaning for the hallways”

“The main thing I’d want to see improved is the management and security side of the place. At night, it’s really difficult to get hold of security. If there’s an issue in the hallway, like flatmates being too loud, I can’t reach them to sort it out. Also, if I ever get locked out, I struggle to call security and actually get through. There have been a few times where I couldn’t contact them at all, and I ended up standing outside my room for about half an hour. On top of that, I also don’t know where the recycling bins are. I’ve been here for around four months now, and I still can’t find them. It would have been really helpful if they’d made that clear when we moved in. Finally, it would be great if the kitchen had a kettle and a toaster. Nothing big, but it would make a big difference for students. Even small basics like that are pretty standard for a kitchen, and it feels like it should have been set up better for people living here. Thanks.”

“We got a larger bathroom and a lot more space for kitchen storage.”

“The cleaners for the communal kitchen and the cleaning supplies are available in every accommodation, like a hoover. The chairs could be upgraded too, especially the computer chairs, they should be more comfortable. The study room chairs also need to be more comfortable. And it would be great to have more equipment in the gym.”

“Honestly, if I had to suggest one thing, it would be about the kitchen. I know the management already does inspections, but it would be great if they could check a bit more regularly. Sometimes students get a little lazy, and then the whole kitchen ends up messy, which affects everyone. If they keep coming around and checking, we’ll all be more careful and more aware of what’s going on. It’s like, we think, “What if they come in and see the kitchen like this?” So we’ll make sure things are kept in order. I know we’re not kids, and we do get really busy with assignments and assessments, so some chores can get forgotten for a while. But a more frequent check could help a lot. Other than that, I think everything else is fine. Thank you.”

“I like having more control over the fire alarms, but there have been a couple times when they went off even though there was no real reason.”

“I like that there are more events happening outside school hours, so everyone in each block can mix together a bit more.”
