“The shower drain clogs up way too easily and ends up flooding the bathroom.”

“Maintenance has been a real letdown. There are a few issues in our flat that no one has ever checked properly or fixed. For instance, our hoover is missing the end piece, so it’s really hard to use. Also, the flat was meant to include a mop, but we never got one. On top of that, the balcony door is broken and swings open during bad weather, which feels genuinely unsafe.”

“The soundproofing really needs work. I can clearly hear people moving around or playing music upstairs, and the doors in the main hallways slam loudly. But the worst part is how much I pick up from my next-door roommate, like when her phone vibrates, when she’s just talking normally, or even when she’s in the shower. There’s no real break from the noise coming from both inside and outside.”

“I basically get no natural light at all. The window is quite small, and I’m on the first floor, which is above ground, looking out over an east-facing building that’s about 20 meters tall. It blocks almost all the little bit of sunshine Glasgow does get. So I’m stuck with the lights on all the time indoors, and it honestly feels really depressing not being able to see the sky.”

“If I could change one thing, it would be adding a power outlet in the bathroom, but since there’s one right outside the floor-to-ceiling mirror in the living area, it’s really not a big deal at all!”
