How dependable is it to get things fixed?

The shower area is really uncomfortable because there’s no window, so it gets quite stuffy. Also, the water suddenly turns extremely hot since the handle is loose and it slips down to the hottest setting.

I’d definitely put more privacy friendly options in the rooms that face Rottenrow Street, because they really don’t offer much privacy, especially on the lower floors. Something like privacy blinds would be a great idea since they still let in natural light while giving you some level of privacy. Another practical and cost effective fix would be privacy window film or coating that you can apply to the windows.

Honestly, I wish I had ended up with better roommates. In the place I’m staying, cleanliness and basic hygiene just aren’t really a thing, even though I specifically asked for that. I’ve brought it up multiple times, but nothing ever changes. On top of that, most of my roommates are from the same part of India, so they mostly stick together as a group and won’t really listen to requests from the rest of us.

1. The bed is too big for the room. The study desk sticks right into the sleeping area, and my legs keep bumping into the table. It’s really irritating. 2. They should include pedestal or table fans too, because the fire doors that have to stay shut stop any real cross ventilation.

I’d tweak the showers a bit, because the water pressure is pretty low, so it takes a long time to actually get clean. Everything else is fine though, and that’s really the only real change I’d make. I’d just also like the oven to heat up a little faster.

I wish we could have chosen our own rooms at the start, before we were given assignments, rather than just being placed in whatever room we were assigned.

I just wish the Strathclyde staff would ring the doorbell every time before they come in to clean the room or do any maintenance work.

Getting better perks, like newer upgraded appliances, really helps. And when you add things that make everyday life more comfortable, like improved insulation to keep temperatures steady, soundproofing to cut down on noise, or ergonomic furniture, it can make a big difference in how good your home feels day to day.

Before we head to Glasgow, we need you to admit there’s a housing shortage. Let us pick our own rooms, and make sure proper support is available to help students actually find somewhere to live. Right now it feels like there are just messy forums and staff who clearly don’t care at all.
