“Really nice area and the staff were great. The building itself is modern, but pretty standard. Everything went smoothly with no real problems, and honestly you can’t beat the location if you’re a University of Glasgow student.”

“These student accommodations are totally fine, honestly. The only real problems we ran into were in my building, with silverfish showing up and the drains getting blocked right when we moved in. We sorted out the clogged drains ourselves, and Unite staff did get an extermination company involved for the silverfish, but they’ve kept coming back even after the traps were put out. You can lift the carpets and there are loads of them underneath, so at this point I just try to ignore it. From what I’ve heard, this is pretty typical for student housing, so I’m not too bothered. I just wish I could move out sooner, because I’m going to have to pay for the last few weeks even though I won’t be staying.”
“The price is way too high for how often everything breaks. The kitchen ends up a mess really fast, and it’s just not worth it.”
“Honestly, the only part I can see that could be improved is the laundry room. There are way too many students, but there are only about 20 dryers and washers. Sometimes you end up waiting for a really long time, especially on weekends, just to get your laundry done. It would be great if they added another 10 dryers or washers so more people could do their laundry without having to sit around for hours.”
“The hot water setup feels really flimsy. It keeps failing every couple of months, and then residents are left without any hot water.”
“The main downside of the accommodation is the silverfish problem. We’ve also been dealing with ongoing electrical issues, and the flat keeps shorting out because of the stove. Even after lots of complaints, we still haven’t been given a new stove. On the positive side, the postal service is really good. They handle parcels well and the collection is quick. The staff are mostly friendly and helpful too. The common room is a nice extra sometimes, even though it can be broken or not working, it usually gets fixed when it happens.”
“The rooms, and especially the bathrooms, don’t seem very well ventilated.”
“Just make sure the instructions for the kitchen appliances are really easy to follow, like clearly labeling the oven dials.”
“We’ve needed more support from management to cut down on problems. For example, we have silverfish, and we’ve never been given any help in dealing with that issue.”
“The bathroom floors could use a better clean, and they should be re-glued down.”
