“My overall experience at Unite Students has been pretty average, honestly. I think I just went in with too many expectations. Coming from a developing country, I expected more from Merchant City House, but it was disappointing to find things like damaged fixtures and, at first, no real communication or support from the team. On top of that, when the locks broke for about half the floor, it became a major worry for my floormates and me. We ended up writing to Unipol, and that’s when the management finally started giving us proper updates. Aside from all of that, the room is not as clean as it should be, especially the carpet. The washroom also needs better layout because water tends to collect there. The bed is okay, though. The springs sometimes get stuck and then suddenly pop back, which is not ideal.”

“Maybe they should focus more on the cleaning and on looking after the shared kitchen areas a bit better.”

“I honestly think having a social area would make my stay so much better. It can be tough to spend time with other people when you’re all stuck in your own flats, since there isn’t really anywhere to meet up.”

“I think people really need to be more mindful in the shared kitchen, especially when it comes to dishes and food. I personally try to keep everything clean and I clean up after myself, but not everyone does. It ends up making it harder to actually enjoy cooking a nice meal.”
