“No mass email was ever sent, and there was no communication at all, about letting residents know during the national COVID-19 lockdown that they could offer flexible tenancies. They did this instead of making students renew their contracts, either for students who needed to renew after COVID or for those who had already renewed before COVID. So when I finally learned about the flexible contracts because it was mentioned in a mass email they sent, it was already too late. They said the site was fully booked. Even so, there are still a lot of empty rooms.”
