“The restrooms are cleaned and restocked a bit more frequently.”

“The building work is still ongoing, and there’s quite a lot happening throughout the university year. Because of that, the accommodation doesn’t look very nice from the outside. It also creates a lot of issues inside our hall. For example, we were left without heating for at least a month. On top of that, we’ve had constant problems with the hot water, and there were days when the whole hall had no hot water at all. I’d really like the work to be done over the summer, when students aren’t there, so these kinds of problems don’t end up affecting us.”

“They handle lunch during the week and breakfast on the weekends. But the price of this place is really high, and honestly, the food budget does not seem to match it.”

“The food is better, and I like that meal times are more varied.”

“They walked me through how the room is set up, but I still can’t figure out how to turn the heating on.”

“Since Christmas, we’ve had ongoing heating problems. The walkway from Block 7 to the rest of the accommodation has been shut off for repairs, and the hot water in Block 7 has been really unreliable. Five months on, it still hasn’t been sorted, even though the place was basically empty for about four weeks over Easter. On top of that, there’s been scaffolding outside my window for months, and the builders don’t seem to be doing anything to fix the roof. Other than all of that, though, I’ve had a really good experience with the hall.”

“I wish there were more shared spaces in the blocks, like little areas where you can sit and chat with other people.”

“The lighting in the room is much better now. With the way it was before, I just couldn’t focus and study properly.”

“I’m one of only four people in our whole roughly 300 person hall who doesn’t have a sink in their room. The building quality is really poor and there’s a lot of damage. On top of that, there’s construction going on right outside my window, so it’s very noisy.”
