I’d like more chances to connect with people and actually make some friends.

I wish there was less noise outside the common room.

This is honestly the brightest issue in the bedroom. The lighting is really dim and it’s getting worse, to the point where it’s aggravating my dry eye syndrome. I’ve heard that some people are more sensitive to glare because of their eye color, but I’m not in that group, so I genuinely need stronger lights in the bedroom. Even though I tried to fix it by buying another lamp, the staff told me I cannot install it. So I got a desk lamp instead, but it still isn’t bright enough. This has really affected my studying. To be fair, the only well-lit area in my en-suite is the kitchen. I’ve also heard lots of other students complain about the lighting, but nothing seems to change. Please take diversity and inclusivity in the accommodation seriously. There are almost 30 percent Asian students living there, and a lot of us need brighter lighting in the bedrooms. Since the accommodation is so far from the university library, and the common room is not quiet, studying in the bedroom is basically our only option. I really hope this gets improved next year.

It’s pretty far from the university and the other places to stay.

It would be way better if it was closer to campus since it’s about a 40 minute walk and the bus service is pretty hit or miss. Please do something to encourage more bus use and make the buses more reliable.

If I could change just one thing, I’d put an air fryer in every kitchen. I genuinely feel like every kitchen should have one, and I’d also add a slushy machine.

Honestly, the fridge ordering part is the main issue. It just doesn’t work. I mean, I understand that the city centre is only a bit away, but still, it should be less of a hassle. If it ended up being cheaper, people would actually use it. Right now though, it feels way too techy, and none of it made sense when I tried to place the order. Other than that, everything is pretty good.

They’re actually taking the noise complaints seriously.

I really just wish I lived nearer to the university, or that the bus to campus was more dependable.

The rooms really need a thorough deep clean. There were a few patches of mould around, and when we arrived the toilet seat and the shower were absolutely disgusting. I ended up soaking them in bleach, but they still need a bit more work to truly get them clean.
