“I’d say it has more storage than I expected. I got it to hold all my hobby stuff, and there’s actually a lot of room down at the bottom of the bed, so it’s perfect for keeping everything in one place.”

“I definitely think the bathroom should have a walk-in shower cubicle instead of a wet floor shower. Also, there should be sofas and a space where people can mingle and get to know each other.”

“My living situation is generally really good, and the place itself is great. But I share the kitchen with 12 people, and they’re not respectful. They use my things and don’t clean up after themselves, and they even eat my food. Because of that, I’ve had to keep all my kitchen utensils in my room. It’s honestly ruined the accommodation for me, since I feel like I no longer have proper space in my room because it’s piled up with my kitchen stuff.”

“On our floor there are 22 rooms. They’ve recently changed the kitchen so it’s only reachable with keycard access, which means only certain rooms can unlock the door to get in. It really cuts down on the social side, because we only end up interacting with 12 out of the 22 people on the floor. When I was in foundation year, I was in Kirkstall too, and back then they hadn’t added the keycard doors yet. I made some great friends with people in rooms that were much further away from me on the floor.”

“Setting up a shared space for students to connect and talk with each other”

“Please add way more shelving and storage to the bedrooms. Two little shelves just isn’t cutting it. And the showers need a real base so the bathroom doesn’t flood every time there’s even a small water splash.”

“The internet connection is way better. The room feels more spacious. The fridge is larger too. There’s also a bigger wardrobe. And the building has lifts.”

“There are a couple of issues, but the big one is the quality. I’ve got black mold growing on my bathroom ceiling even though I make sure the room is properly ventilated. My space also feels really damp, and on top of that, the paint is so thin that it peels off at random. It’s honestly awful, because this really shouldn’t be happening to me.”
