“I’m not sure how my flatmates were picked. I don’t mind living with other people, but they don’t really talk, so it’s pretty silent most of the time unless someone brings friends back. I think it would really help if you could choose your flatmates, especially if you want to live with people who are more like you. That could make it easier to make friends and feel like you actually belong. It would also mean I wouldn’t always be the only one taking out the bins or wiping down surfaces, because you could set clear cleanliness expectations if you knew who you were sharing the place with.”
