“Right now, the WhatsApp group chat we had for the whole building is shut down. The reason is that a lot of people use it when the fire alarm goes off instead of sticking to the proper procedure. I think that’s a serious mistake on their part, because it’s not just another way to message our flatmates. It’s also supposed to be used to let them know whether there’s a real fire or just a false alarm.”
