“My place is really nice overall, but there’s one thing I’d change. I really wish there was a shower screen or cabinet in the bathroom, because when I shower the whole bathroom gets soaked, and that’s been a bit of a problem for me. If that was in place, it would make my day to day life a lot easier.”

“Accommodation staff do send lots of messages, but it’s rare to get any updates about maintenance plans. It would be really helpful to know when maintenance is likely to turn up. Getting woken up early for something like changing a shower head or doing a window check is not pleasant, especially when you weren’t told it was going to happen.”

“Please swap the wet rooms over to shower cubicles.”

“The mattress doesn’t feel like it’s very good quality. It seems pretty average.”

“The ovens were great, and the living room was really comfortable too, maybe even the bathroom as well.”

“A bigger bed would be nice, and I’d also love more community activities that are free. It feels like everything on campus costs money, and that kind of setup makes it harder to feel a real sense of community. I also don’t like how the focus seems to be on bringing in revenue instead.”

“Better upkeep and more consistent attendance. The issues that get reported can still drag on for weeks, sometimes even months, and in some cases they just get brushed aside.”

“I’ve started taking this more seriously. Since I moved in, the electricity has been going off about five times a week, sometimes even more. On top of that, I’ve had men I don’t know coming into my room with no proper notice. I’ve tried to report it and ask for compensation, but the accommodation office, even though the staff are mostly lovely and friendly, didn’t seem to take it seriously for a long time. In some cases they’ve also felt a bit unprofessional, and they can be quite dismissive.”

“I really like that there are larger fridges and freezers, and the showers are better too. But the showerhead not being able to come close to you is awful. It’s honestly difficult to wash myself properly.”

“It’s parking for students who want to keep their car at uni. There’s room for a proper car park, and it would be really helpful, honestly making day to day life a lot easier.”
