“Overall, it can be really hard, especially when you’re coming from somewhere smaller like I did. I was used to having close friends and family around, and then suddenly moving to a huge city where I honestly didn’t know anyone. That said, I did end up meeting a lot of friends online, and it’s been a big help. I get along really well with people on my course and in my accommodation, so I’m not feeling alone. I still call my friends and family back home pretty often, but after a while I’m finally at a point where I feel happy, confident, and comfortable in social situations. :)”

“The windows really need to be replaced. There’s a terrible draft coming through the window seals. Most of the beds are placed right under the windows, so you end up freezing at night.”

“The toilets are a problem, and I’ve heard from multiple people that the issues aren’t really about personal hygiene. They just need to be looked at and fixed by maintenance. Also, the electricity is unreliable. Whenever me and my flatmates use more than four hobs at the same time, the power and the water cut out and we have to reboot everything.”
