“The bathroom situation is honestly ridiculous. Whoever designed it clearly did not think about students at all. Every time you take a shower, the entire bathroom gets flooded because there is no door or anything to stop the water from spreading. I genuinely do not understand why this would be overlooked. It would be so easy to add something like a rubber barrier around the shower area, and that would stop the water from running everywhere. There is no real excuse, especially when it comes to cost. Also, the shower heads were only replaced recently because they were filthy. On top of that, there is mould around the bottom parts of the bedroom, which could really become a health problem. Then there is the fire alarm, and the location is just awful. It is placed right outside the bathroom, so if you want to shower, you have to wait for the steam to clear so it does not trigger the alarm. That is such a hassle. As for the room layout, someone decided that the study tables should be trapezium shaped. I do not get how that is supposed to be comfortable or even practical. Moving on to the kitchen, the biggest issue is the stove and oven, because they shut off after a set amount of time. This has to be one of the dumbest ideas I have seen all year. It completely ruins recipes that need to cook or bake for longer periods. If we talk about the laundry rooms, it is the same story. The machines have stopped working multiple times. Most students, around 90%, agree that the laundry service is terrible. It charges different prices but the cleaning is awful. For example, dryers often need to be run twice for one load because they do not dry the clothes properly after just one cycle, even when you are not overloading them. Finally, campus security is another letdown. In some cases they are extremely rude, and they mostly just check cameras or help only after something has already happened, like “helping you if a crime has been committed.” So overall, these student accommodations charge about 900 pounds a month, and it feels completely unfair for the quality of service you actually get.”

“Next time, I’d really like to stay in an all-girls dorm, so I can have more in common with my roommates.”
