“Nice furniture in the apartments”
“Staying in a room that looks out onto the lovely private garden has been a real pleasure. That said, I’ve sometimes struggled to sleep because a few residents hang out outside in the late hours, smoking and chatting loudly. I’d really appreciate it if the smoking area were moved a bit farther away from the residential rooms.”
“I like the way it keeps me accountable for how much energy I use, since it is basically pay as you go. It also helps cut down on overall utility use, with lights and the heater turning on and off automatically.”
“This would be ideal if the rent were a bit cheaper.”
“I think it would be great to upgrade the shower.”
“I really like that you can pick the exact room when you accept. The downside is that room assignments can be a bit random, so some residents end up paying the same rate for rooms that are just a little worse, like smaller space, a less ideal layout, weaker views, more noise, or a window that faces the wrong direction.”
“Honestly, if I had to name one thing I could improve about where I live right now, I can’t think of anything. I genuinely think my current accommodation is more than good enough. College is the perfect place to live, and I wouldn’t have expected anything better anywhere across the whole United Kingdom. So I don’t really have any suggestions. What I really like is how this place creates a close, almost exclusive kind of community. The administration and the residents both put in real effort to build an environment where friendships and connections naturally form. There are also cultural events organized by different nationalities, and members from all over get the chance to join in. It makes it feel welcoming and inclusive at the same time. On top of that, the accommodation is catered, so we can eat proper, well cooked meals instead of relying on takeout. That might sound small, but it matters a lot when you’re a student, and it really helps take some stress off your plate. And last but not least, there’s the garden at Mecklenburg Square. It even has a tennis court and a playground for the younger members. Every Saturday, the registrar organizes garden volunteering too, which encourages everyone to get outside, spend time in nature, go for a walk, or just play tennis. Overall, I feel like Good Enough is a really holistic environment. It offers everything an accommodation could possibly offer. And like people say about Good Enough College, it really is London’s best kept secret. There’s nothing I would change, and I feel genuinely grateful to be part of this college. Thank you.”
“Possibly a shuttle to King’s Cross, since it’s quite a long walk to reach it!”
“I want to make the bathroom facilities better.”
“I really like the place, and I especially enjoy the sense of community. That said, I do think the rent is a bit too high for a family flat.”
