“I asked for the blinds in the ground floor kitchen to be changed for privacy. Also, since it’s only meant for girls only roommates, having tinted windows defeats the whole purpose. Instead, put net curtains there because the current darkness is causing serious sun deficiency, which then leads to migraines, fatigue, low energy, and a lack of motivation. It genuinely makes you feel lazy and can even tip into depression. I also think the kitchen and the bar area with the chairs are set up too close together. If people are sitting there, you end up constantly having to move around and even dent the fridge because there just isn’t enough space. There should be regular checks to make sure the kitchen is being used fairly, like cupboards and fridge space not being hogged by one or two people. It should be monitored so everyone gets a fair share and people respect each other’s space. On top of that, student ambassadors should not be randomly rude, entitled, intimidating, or diminishing. They need to be properly trained and supported with frequent checks to make sure they’re genuine. Student ambassadors should not be playing favourites, or bringing family members along to events just so they can enjoy the university benefits and freebies, while then being nasty to polite students who are actually eligible for the same things. I’ve also seen ambassadors behave in a way that feels sneaky, like hiding benefits or items from students who should have access, and then acting funny or hostile instead of being respectful. What’s really upsetting is having to deal with student ambassadors being nasty to me even though I haven’t done anything to them. I feel uncomfortable living on campus, and it’s honestly sad and disgusting. I’ve experienced vile behaviour from British home students, international students, and international ambassadors towards me, with zero recognition, no respect for boundaries, and no understanding of basic human decency or kindness, especially when it comes to mental health.”

“Most of the time, it’s honestly pretty okay, and the issues that pop up are usually manageable. That said, a few things are a real problem, like the heating and the kitchen being left a mess and not cleaned properly.”
